Fire Damages Vacant House | News, Sports, Jobs - Post Journal

Northern Chautauqua County fire crews were on the scene of a house blaze at 11024 Bennett State Road in Forestville. The call came in after 8:30 Saturday morning and when firefighters arrived, smoke was visible at the scene. Responders included: Chautauqua County EMS, Emergency Services and departments from South Dayon, East Dunkirk, Irving, Sunset Bay, Silver Creek, Seneca Nation, Cassadaga, Forestville, Sheridan and Hanover Center. Reports from the scene indicated the house was vacant and a sign in the yard noted the home was up for public auction. At this time the county Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
